It was announced today by Marvel that Jamie Chung would be joining the cast of FOX’s upcoming X-Men series as Clarice Fong, more known as the mutant Blink, who possesses the ability of teleportation. Clarice’s naturally strong exuberance has taken a hit after a sudden and traumatic upheaval of her life. As she adjusts to the new people and places that are suddenly ‘home’, Clarice is slowly becoming herself again.

This is not the first time Jamie Chung has taken part in a comic book show. She recently played Valerie Vale on Fox’s own Gotham series. With this new role, she’ll have one foot in the DC universe and another in the Marvel universe.

This won’t be Blink’s first live-action portrayal. Chinese actress Fan Bingbing briefly played Blink in X-Men: Days of Future Past. Her scenes took place in the post-apocalyptic future that Wolverine was sent back in time to prevent. We will be seeing Fan Bingbing reprise the character since she is currently contracted to play her for four more X-Men films.

The pilot has been written by Matt Nix and will be directed by Bryan Singer. The pilot focuses on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive. It is presumed that Blink will be a part of this underground network.
