Matt Reeves ALREADY Backs Out of 'Batman'

First Ben Affleck, now Matt Reeves

Yeah, so remember when Ben Affleck decided to back out of directing the next standalone Batman movie an Matt Reeves came in to take his place? About that…. The final negotiations broke down in what seems to have been very heated.

A studio source told The Hollywood Reporter that negotiations have broken down. Reeves is no longer going to be director of the Batman movie. However, it’s possible that talks could resume as soon as heads cool down. The studio is intent on making another Batman movie regardless, but it would be nice if they had settled on a director by now.

Reeves is currently in the middle of post-production on the next Apes movie, War for the Planet of the Apes, which promises to be the biggest entry in the franchise.

Prior to Reeves being offered the position of director, Ridley Scott and Don’t Breathe helmer Fede Alvarez were among the choices.

Seriously, does WB Entertainment even know what they’re doing over there?
