Welcome to the Legion!

Throughout the course of Game of Thrones, we’ve watched the evolution of Daenerys’ dragons since their fiery, accidental birth at the end of Season 1. Each year they’ve gotten bigger, which is par for the course for any newborn creatures. However, just when you thought they couldn’t get bigger, it turns out that they WILL be bigger.

In an exclusive with EW, director Matt Shakman was to the point when it came to discussing the development of the dragons for Season 7 of Game of Thrones:

“The dragons this year are the size of 747s,” director Matt Shakman tells EW. “Drogon is the biggest of the bunch — his flame is 30-feet in diameter!”

If anyone is familiar with airplanes or flying, you’ll know that 747s are giant. And considering Season 7 is going to be a very battle heavy season, with anticipations high surrounding possible clashes between the White Walkers and the Dragons, knowing that the dragons are going to be large and in charge makes me think that things are going to get super intense.

HBO’s Game of Thrones Season 7 will air this year on July 16. What do you think about this information? Did you expect the dragons to get any bigger? Do you just want more dragons? Let us know in the comments below.
