Welcome to the Legion!

New TV Spot for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Are you counting down the days until May 5, 2017, when Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters? Well, director James Gunn has unleashed just a little more footage to keep you pumped! A new 30-second TV spot dropped today and depicts our intrepid ragtag team fighting off all sorts of baddies. Apparently, they are on everyone’s hit list. Not surprising given how much destruction they brought down in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Can you actually believe it’s been three years since the first Guardians came out? It feels like a lot more recent than that! I am definitely looking forward to seeing what hits are on “Awesome Mix Vol. 2” and to future dance-offs. Sadly, no hottie Lee Pace in the mix this time – I do enjoy him so, even if Ronan the Accuser was rather humorless. But anyone looks humorless next to Star-Lord and Rocket!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 brings back Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax (my fave!), Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, and Sean Gunn as Kraglin. New faces in the franchise now include Pom Klementieff, as Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki as Aesha, Chris Sullivan as Taserface and Kurt Russell as Ego, or “the Living Planet.” I actually didn’t know Russell’s character’s name until now. Ego! That is great. Is that kind of like the Big Giant Head from 3rd Rock From the Sun? Also, IMDB lists Nathan Fillion as “Simon Williams,” and I am 100% down for whatever he is bringing!

Watch the new TV footage below! What do you think? Let us know on Twitter or in the comments!
