New Uncharted: Lost Legacy Preview Announces Release Date
Today Naughty Dog revealed a new clip of their upcoming action adventure game, Uncharted: Lost Legacy, the latest and maybe last installment into the Uncharted video game series. On top of that, the video also announces the game’s release date. You can check out the video posted below.
Fan favorite character, Chloe Frazer, returns to the Uncharted series in an all-new adventure where she teams up with one of Uncharted 4’s main villains, Nadine Ross. Together they delve into Hindu myths and legends to find the Tusk of Ganesh before someone else does. What would an Uncharted story be if our heroes weren’t going up against a much larger force searching for the same artifact? This time around, Chloe and Nadine are up against a man named Asav and his so-called “expert.”
By the sound of it, Nadine is getting her just deserts when she considers the prospect of facing hundreds of men armed to the teeth. Unless this story takes place before A Thief’s End. Then this just becomes a learning experience, I guess.
“In December we said that we’re approaching this project as a true Uncharted game,” said Shaun Escayg, Creative Director and Writer of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, “complete with its own deep narrative with complex character development, all-new destinations, refined gameplay, and blockbuster cinematic moments. We’re especially excited to have Chloe as our new protagonist and explore more of her story as she and Nadine venture across India in search of the fabled Tusk of Ganesh.”
If you’re under the impressions that The Lost Legacy is a two-hour long DLC expansion to Uncharted 4, you would be wrong. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is said to be as long as 10 hours. So yeah, expect this to be a standalone with its own packaging. In fact, it does.
Anyone who pre-orders Uncharted: The Lost Legacy at participating retailers will receive a free digital copy of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy for the PS4. Those who wish to buy the fifth Uncharted game through the PS Store, gamers will also get an Uncharted: The Lost Legacy PS4 theme designed by Truant Pixel.
If you picked up the Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Digital Deluxe Edition, Explorer’s Pack, or the Triple Pack, you’ll get Uncharted: The Lost Legacy as a digital download at launch. Owners of these products are not eligible for any pre-order bonuses.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will launch on August 22, 2017 in North America for $39.99 USD, $49.99 CAD. The Lost Legacy will arrive on August 23, 2017 in Europe.
