Nope, That’s Not the Official Poster for Netflix’s The Punisher

Sorry, folks. That image you just shared all over social media is not the official poster for Marvel’s upcoming Netflix series The Punisher, starring Jon Bernthal. It’s just a really good, very convincing piece of fan art.

The poster art, which can be seen above, was created by fan Giuseppe Spinelli. The picture, gained a life of its own earlier this week after actor Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page in the Daredevil series) retweeted the image. Spinelli outs the truth via Twitter this afternoon, apologizing for the confusion.

We gotta admit, this is the most convincing teaser poster for an upcoming television series we’ve seen in a long time. It certainly does look like a direction hired artists would take in promoting The Punisher. With a little bit of clean up and an actual release date, Netflix might as well make Spinelli’s artwork the official poster.

If you want some real, official pics from The Punisher, head on over to Getty Images where they have set photos featuring a very beaten-looking Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle.
