Nyssa is Coming Back to Arrow to Fight Her Sister, Talia

Soon after Stephen Amell announced via Twitter that Manu Bennett will be reprising his role as Deathstroke, Entertainment Weekly has learned that Katrina Law is coming back to Arrow as Nyssa al Ghul for a few episodes that will lead to the inevitable fight with her half-sister, Talia al Ghul (Lexa Doig).

Law, who currently stars in Training Day on CBS, first appeared on Arrow during season 2. She met Sara (Caity Lotz) when the latter joined the League of Assassins. The two have become an on-again-off-again couple, often bordering on the relationship status “It’s Complicated.”

As for Talia, she didn’t show up in the series until midway through season 5 when it was revealed that she helped train Oliver during his stay in Russia. She also trained Arrow’s current foe, Prometheus (Josh Segarra), after learning it was Oliver who killed Ra’s al Ghul (played by Matt Nable).

The reason why we haven’t met Talia until now, especially during the Green Arrow’s many run-ins with the League of Assassins, is because she had left the cabal years ago. She parted ways with her father after realizing she would never be allowed to become the Head of the Demon. As a result, she created her own cult of warriors.

Since Talia’s introduction to the show, fans have been itching for a showdown between the rivaling sisters. “They’re close enough and different enough that I would love, at some point, to do a story with Nyssa and Talia,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim previously told EW.

Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
