Welcome to the Legion!

Hey Legion!

In addition to the Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer (which was awesome, btw), I have two rumors for us this week. And, yes, they are both about Star Wars: The Last Jedi. It’s a Last Jedi kind-of-a week for sure. So let’s dig in…

Alright! Here we go!

1.) Laura Dern’s character in Star Wars: The Last Jedi is possibly named Admiral Holdo.

According to Making Star Wars, Laura Dern’s character may be Resistance Admiral Holdo. And if that is not her name, it appears to be her alias as the rumor further states that “Admiral Holdo” is what she is being called by those connected to the film.

MSW also released a rad description of her attire. The rumor states that she wears a “long, regal, mauve gown.” We previously heard rumors about her pink hair which MSW also reports within this rumor.

She sounds incredibly majestic and intriguing. I can’t wait to see Laura Dern’s performance and learn more about this new character.

Additionally, I was, of course, very happy to hear that she is a Resistance Admiral. Love seeing women in power. *High Five* But… I don’t necessarily think we’re going to love her character.

The rumor adds that Admiral Holdo’s arrival to the film is going to create “a divided Resistance.”

I’m not sure if this means we have a crazy, double-agent situation on our hands or if, perhaps, she will just be a real pain-in-the-ass/by-the-book bureaucratic character (*personally, I’m leaning toward the latter*) but her arrival will clearly bring tension and drama to the film.

2.) Fleet Leader Dameron is sure to charm our pants off in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Poe fans, get excited.

As if Poe wasn’t already steamy enough, now he’s a Fleet Leader. And we all know that there is nothing more irresistible than a rebellious hunk, flying around the galaxy, fighting for the greater good.

MSW reported that Fleet Leader Dameron will be leading the fleet (*duh but there’s no other way to say it*) as they attempt to get away from The First Order.

Yeah, pretty vague. But it sounds fun! With Rey training with Luke and Finn out of commission for who knows how long, it sounds like Poe’s adventures in his X-wing will bring that action-packed element of outterspace-time and conflict that we Star Wars fans love.

3.) “I only know one truth; it’s time for the Jedi to end.” – Luke Skywalker in the new Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer.

WTF?! What does he mean????!!!!!

As they ALWAYS do, the new Star Wars trailer brought out all of the feels.

But the most stunning moment for me were these final words from Luke. — He could be in such a horrible place mentally and/or emotionally that he really does mean that the Jedi need to go away all together and give up. If this is the case, it opens the door for Rey to help him see the light (*no pun intended*) and move on from the darkness that plagues him.

He could mean that the Jedi as we know them, must change now and become something different.

Or both. I think it means both.

Since the trailer also shows Luke teaching Rey to become more connected to The Force, it appears that he doesn’t totally give up. Whew. Based on this trailer and all we know so far, I feel that Luke is The Last Jedi. And Rey is the first of whatever new kind of Jedi need to rise up.

What do you think?!
