MUTHUR Dearest Leaves Crew in the Lurch in Alien: Covenant

In space, no one can hear you call out to MUTHUR. Fox released latest video released for Alien: Covenant, Daniels (Katherine Waterston) starts out addressing the Covenant’s A.I. computer as any would talk to Siri or Alexa. Then things take a turn for the worse….

The clip below begins with Daniels asking MUTHUR about the details of the crew’s journey. A sort of “Are we there yet?” query, but without a frustrated parent threatening to turn the space ship around. Then she inquires if they could have better food (“Can we open our snacks now?”).

The third clip shows Daniels and the other members of the Covenant crew playing poker. Daniels mockingly asks MUTHUR if “there is a planet in the known universe where a Full House beats a Straight Fluuuuuush?” This time MUTHUR goes radio silent.

Sh*t starts hitting the fan in pretty rapid succession, with Daniels constantly futilely asking where important, life-saving items are located. We don’t here MUTHUR’s voice again until she tells Daniels that an Alien is directly above her. How convenient of her to reboot just as the Alien is WITHIN STRIKING DISTANCE.

Directed by Ridley Scott, the film also stars James Franco, Carmen Ejogo, Demián Bichir, Danny McBride, Billy Crudup, with Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace reprising their roles as Daniel and Dr. Elizabeth Shaw.

Alien: Covenant creeps into theaters May 19, 2017.
