The Star Wars franchise is turning 40 this week so, as a way to celebrate the franchise’s birthday, Annie Leibovitz photographed the cast of Star Wars: The Last Jedi for the Summer 2017 issue of Vanity Fair magazine. Today Vanity Fair has released four different covers for the Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm production and they look fabulous!
Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia cover definitely makes me tear up upon seeing it. It’ll always be too soon.
The first cover in our order features the late Carrie Fisher as Leia Organa. The second cover features Daisy Ridley’s Rey and Mark Hamill’s Luke. The third cover features shows the three First Order baddies that we got to know in the previous film – Gwendoline Christie’s Captain Phasma sans helmet, Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren, and Domhnall Gleeson’s General Hux. The last cover features Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron, John Boyega’s Finn, BB8, and Kelly Marie Tran’s Rose Tico.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is written and directed by Rion Johnson and will continue the storylines that were introduced in the previous film. The returning cast consists of Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, and Anthony Daniels.
The newest additions to the cast are Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern, and newcomer Kelly Marie Tran.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 15, 2017. Make sure you check out the Vanity Fair covers below and let us know your thoughts.
