Marvel’s Inhumans Releases Poster, TV Premiere Date

ABC announced today that Friday, September 29, 2017 will be the television premiere for its upcoming new comic book series, Marvel’s Inhumans. That comes just after the two-week run of the two-hour-long series premiere at all participating IMAX theaters. They also released a new poster featuring Anson Mount as Black Bolt, Serinda Swan as Medusa, and Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones) as Maximus the Mad.

Marvel’s Inhumans is hoping to wow audiences members with visual flair that other Marvel Studios blockbusters. The first two episodes were shot entirely with IMAX cameras, so we know that it’ll at least be suited for the gigantic silver screen. If all goes well in the IMAX, it’ll be a nice boon for Marvel whose TV shows have always been feeling lacking on the visual effects department with its super-powered characters. It might even set a new standard for future Marvel television shows. Regardless of its success, it’ll be good for IMAX since the show’s theatrical debut will fill in that gap where there are no more summer blockbusters nor new big-action spectacles drawing away audiences’ attention.

Let’s just hope they didn’t blow all that dough in the first two episodes (out of eight), leaving us with an unimpressive rest of the season.

I don’t know about the rest of the cast, but I am excited as hell that Game of Thrones‘ Iwan Rheon is playing Maximus the Mad. Maximus is a bit like Loki who is equal parts charming and evil at the same time. Rheon definitely can play charming and evil.

Marvel’s Inhumans premieres at the IMAX September 1, 2017.
