Today 20th Century Fox released a clip showing the gradual transformation of Andy Serkis into Caesar by WETA Digital. It’s subtle, at first, but it is interesting to see the shift happen right before your eyes.

I missed out on the second chapter of this franchise, but I remember the visual effects in the first film. Although the effects were outstanding, there was always something a little off about them. Now, three films later, it is amazing to see how much the digital components of transforming humans into apes has evolved. Combine it with actors like Andy Serkis and the whole picture comes together effortlessly.

Make sure you check out the clip below and let us know your thoughts.

The official synopsis for the film is below:

In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
