Welcome to the Legion!

Over the weekend Disney and Lucasfilm released a couple of new episodes of Forces of Destiny on their Youtube channel. The first of three that were uploaded focused on Ahsoka and Padme Amidala as they prepared for a diplomatic meeting. Alas, as is the case with anything pertaining to diplomatic relations in the Star Wars universe, things go a bit…astray.

In this episode we see Ahsoka and Padme Amidala preparing for a diplomatic meeting. Ahsoka notices that the place settings for the table could be construed as offensive, which prompts Padme to question why her instructions weren’t heeded. This results in a bounty hunter’s cover being blown and lots of shooting to occur. Personally, I think things escalated a little too quickly since all that appeared to be off was the silverware. The bounty hunter must not have been all that good if she couldn’t have come up with an easy and quick lie to cover herself. Just my two cents…

Each animated short will be about 2-3 minutes long and will feature Rey (Daisy Ridley), Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), Sabine (Tiya Sircar), Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein) and Maz Kanata (Lupita Nyong’o).

The series will stay true to the canon already established by Lucasfilm. Their  main focus is showing us how choices both big and small ultimately shape the destiny of these familiar characters. All of the characters featured in the series are all unique and special and this series seeks to represent and convey those qualities.

This animated mini-series will be released on Disney Youtube.  These shorts will serve to set up the basis for a two-part TV special featuring eight additional shorts on Disney Channel this Fall season.
