D23 Expo: ‘Every Single Hero’ Coming to Avengers: Infinity War

Marvel Studios bookended Saturday’s Walt Disney Studios Live Action Films panel at D23 Expo with a presentation on the next major Marvel crossover event, Avengers: Infinity War. Marvel President, Kevin Feige was joined by Josh Brolin, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Don Cheadle, Anthony Mackie, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, and Robert Downey Jr. The gang was later joined by one-half of Infinity War’s directing team, Joe Russo, while Anthony Russo continues filming the movie in Atlanta.

At the start of the presentation, Feige announced that next year is going to be the 10th anniversary of the MCU. Holy moly! To celebrate, Marvel Studios will be changing its logo to “MARVEL STUD10S: The First Ten Years” in 2018.

Then Feige moved on to Avengers: Infinity War in which he promised that “every single hero” who has ever been in a Marvel film will be in this movie. That’s a huge ensemble cast!

“It’s fun to think that Kevin and I figured all this out at Randy’s Donuts filming Iron Man 2,” says Downey.

At the end of the presentation, the cast and crew revealed a new featurette. It highlights all of the MCU movies that have been building up the Infinity Gems story over the past decade. Then…new footage! Fan saw the Guardians rolling up in the Milano. Star-Lord is shown telling the team to be careful and to show their mean faces. Then a body slams into the Milano. Thor! Mantis wakes up the fallen god. “Who the hell are you guys?” he asked.

After that, there’s a rapid fire of Loki presenting the Tesseract to Thanos, Spider-Man riding on a school bus, a voice saying about Thanos, “Death follows him like a shadow,” and the Collector’s lair destroyed. Inside is Gamora crying.

Lots of Avengers fighting. Iron Man brings back the Hulkbuster, and Spider-Man is wearing his Avengers costume, which we first saw (spoiler) at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The clip ends with a giant battle with Thanos on a decimated landscape. He reaches out and calls down a flaming rain of comets. At this point, Doctor Strange has joined the team.

Obviously, we don’t have actual footage of the teaser yet. What we do have are all the featurettes leading up to Infinity War so far. You can watch them in the video below.
