Welcome to the Legion!

The new animated series from Disney and Lucasfilm titled Forces of Destiny has released their second episode. This episode continues off after the conclusion of the first episode with on Rey, the mysterious Jakku resident from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Rey and BB-8 have to take off on her speeder to escape sand bandits because everyone loves BB-8.

I’m wondering if Disney will be doing two episodes per character. I wasn’t expecting the second episode to be about Rey because of how the first episode ended. I do very much like how they tied the two episodes together and how it went directly into the action. I also like how you really don’t need to watch the first episode to get the context of the scene.

Each animated short will be about 2-3 minutes long and will feature Rey (Daisy Ridley), Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), Sabine (Tiya Sircar), Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein) and Maz Kanata (Lupita Nyong’o).

The series will stay true to the canon already established by Lucasfilm. Their  main focus is showing us how choices both big and small ultimately shape the destiny of these familiar characters. All of the characters featured in the series are all unique and special and this series seeks to represent and convey those qualities.

This animated mini-series will be released on Disney Youtube.  These shorts will serve to set up the basis for a two-part TV special featuring eight additional shorts on Disney Channel this Fall season.

What do you think of the second Forces of Destiny episode? How many episodes do you think they are devoting to each character? Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments.
