SDCC 2017: Westworld Turns into a Deadly Game in Season 2
The entire cast of HBO’s Westworld, minus Anthony Hopkins, held a panel at San Diego Comic-Con Saturday night to introduce the Season 2 trailer, which features the robot uprising already in progress. You can watch the trailer below.
The trailer starts with the self-playing piano with the music sheet splattered with blood. Elsewhere, Bernard (Jeffrey Wright) finds a dead tiger washed up on the bank of a river. Something tells me Westworld is going to have a bit of a crossover with at least one other park…. I’m placing my bets on Samurai World, the only other park confirmed to exist in the show.
Then we see Maeve (Thandie Newton) calmly surveying a sea of carnage in what looks to be the park’s control room. Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood), who evolved into Westworld’s true villain at the end of Season 1, is on horseback and furiously gunning down other people, presumably human guests of the park.
The trailer ends with the Man in Black (Ed Wood) covered in blood. Smiling. He not only survived the initial slaughter of guests who gathered for special banquet, but he finally gets to participate in the game he’s been wanting to play for years.
Westworld won’t return until sometimes in 2018.
