You’ll Float Too (In Your Own Mess) With the New IT Trailer

The first full-length trailer for IT just dropped and…no one at Legion of Leia was willing to watch it, save for I, the bravest of the wimps. The new trailer features a lot more footage than the previous releases, especially where Pennywise is concerned. You can watch the video below.

New Line Cinema’s horror thriller IT, directed by Andrés Muschietti (Mama), is based on the hugely popular Stephen King novel of the same name, which has been terrifying readers for decades. It also doesn’t help that Tim Curry’s iteration gave the Pennywise a physical form, thus solidifying its reign of terror upon impressionable minds for decades.

In Muschietti’s adaptation, children are beginning to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine at an alarming rate. A group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.

The film stars Bill Skarsgård (Allegiant, Netflix’s Hemlock Grove) as the story’s central villain, Pennywise. The ensemble of young actors include Jaeden Lieberher (Midnight Special), Jeremy Ray Taylor (Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip), Sophia Lillis (37), Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), Wyatt Oleff (Guardians of the Galaxy), Chosen Jacobs (Cops and Robbers), Jack Dylan Grazer (Tales of Halloween) and Nicholas Hamilton (Captain Fantastic).

IT premieres in theaters worldwide beginning September 8, 2017.

Now excuse us while we hide in our blanket forts and stay far, far away from water faucets.
