In recent casting news, it was revealed that Anna Diop (24:Legacy) was cast as Starfire, one of the leading figures in the latest DC live-action series titled Titans. This news comes just after it was announced that newcomer Teagan Croft will be taking on the role of Raven in the upcoming adaptation of the Titans. The series will be the slated for a 2018 release as what will represent the beginning of DC branded direct-to-consumer digital service brought to us by Warner Bros TV.

For those of you unfamiliar with her, Starfire is a Tamaranean warrior princess from Tamaran, a planet known for its inhabitants and their warrior prowess. Starfire’s typical storyline within the DC Universe is that she has come to Earth to seek asylum. The story of how and why changes sometimes depending on the incarnation. In the Titans show, she is a ‘no-nonsense, take-no-prisoners stranger on our world’. Her abilities are mainly relegated to shooting energy bolts and flying. In the show, she is searching for her place on Earth and, eventually, run into the Titans. Will that run in end well? Most likely yes given past history with the Titans.

The general synopsis of the show is below:

Titans follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In the action-adventure series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire, Raven and others.
