Netflix released the final trailer today for their upcoming Marvel/Netflix collaborative series – The Defenders. It’s an exciting final trailer where we get to see more of the gang working together and bonding. Also, we get to see a better display of the Iron Fist’s power this go round, which I am content with.
Marvel’s The Defenders will take place a bit after the events of each individual Marvel series we’ve seen so far: Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Marvel’s Luke Cage, and Marvel’s Iron Fist. The Hand is back with a vengeance and have brought Elektra (Elodie Yung) back from the dead to wreck some major havoc.
That is not all the gang has to worry about. Alexandra (Signourney Weaver) appears to be the big bad of this season and we don’t know too much about what all she has planned. Whatever it is, it can’t be good.
The official synopsis for the series is below:
Marvel’s The Defenders follows Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones). A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.
Which Defender are you most looking forward to? I am personally excited to see Jessica Jones having to deal with the other three, especially Danny Rand. I lowkey want her to smack him upside the head at some point. A girl can dream.
Marvel’s The Defenders will launch globally on Netflix in August 18, 2017.
