Warner Bros. Pictures and Alcon Entertainment have released the third and final short film that takes place between 2019 and 2049 in the Blade Runner universe. The year is 2022, which is when the records on replicants prior were completely wiped out.

Unlike the first two shorts, this one is done in an anime style and is directed by reknowned Cowboy Bepop director Shinichirô Watanabe. The short also features an original score from Flying Lotus and an original song from Grammy nominee Lauren Daigle.

The official synopsis for the movie is below:

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

Blade Runner 2049 stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de ArmasSylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie DavisCarla Juri, Lennie James, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto. The film is directed by Denis Villeneuve.
