Welcome to the Legion!

TNT’s The Alienist

Today TNT released some new key art along with a new trailer titled ‘Hide and Seek’ for their upcoming limited series, The Alienist.

The trailer starts off with a game of hide and seek between some kids, throwing bit of some Jack and the Beanstalk rhymes into the mix. As the trailer cuts to the murders and the trio of inspectors trying to find the killer, there is a creepy countdown as the “giant” hunts down the kids one by one. It is creepy, yet effective.

The official synopsis for the show is below:

The Alienist opens when a series of haunting murders of boy prostitutes grips New York City. Newly appointed police commissioner Theodore Roosevelt (Brian Geraghty) calls upon criminal psychologist Dr. Laszlo Kreizler (Daniel Brühl) and newspaper illustrator John Moore (Luke Evans) to conduct the investigation in secret. They are joined by Sara Howard (Dakota Fanning), a headstrong secretary determined to become the city’s first female police detective. Using the emerging disciplines of psychology and forensics, this band of social outsiders set out to apprehend one of New York City’s first serial killers.
