Today Warner Bros. Pictures released a new trailer for the upcoming sequel Paddington 2. The film further explores the life of the beloved character now that he has settled in with the Brown family after the events of the first film.
The official synopsis is below:
Following the worldwide hit “Paddington,” one of the most successful family films of all time, this much-anticipated sequel finds Paddington (Ben Whishaw) happily settled with the Brown family in London, where he has become a popular member of the local community, spreading joy and marmalade wherever he goes.
While searching for the perfect present for his beloved Aunt Lucy’s hundredth birthday, Paddington sees a unique pop-up book in Mr. Gruber’s antique shop, and embarks upon a series of odd jobs to buy it. But when the book is stolen, it’s up to Paddington and the Browns to unmask the thief.

Paddington 2 is directed by Paul King. Most of the original film’s cast is back along with some newcomers to the series. Paddington 2 stars Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Brendan Gleeson, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, Hugh Grant, and Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington. The cast also includes Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin, and Imelda Staunton as the voice of Aunt Lucy.
Paddington is based on the best-selling series of children’s stories by British author Michael Bond, which have sold more than 35 million copies worldwide and have captured the imaginations of children and adults globally.
The film will premiere in theaters on January 12, 2018.
