Welcome to the Legion!

Avengers: Infinity War

After what has felt like years of anticipation since Thanos was first revealed onscreen in 2012, we finally have a trailer that points us to his ultimate plot significance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Oh, and the Avengers are finally back together again. And I mean, they are ALL really back together again.

Marvel Studios released the first Avengers: Infinity War trailer today and there is much to unpack. The main thing to notice though is that the Infinity Gauntlet is definitely a plot point (if you hadn’t guessed it already from all of the different Infinity Gem appearances). It looks like we may lose Vision (Paul Bettany) due to the gem in his head keeping him alive and Thanos needing all the gems for his gauntlet. Put two and two together there.

Most importantly, the last shot of most of the Avengers running towards the camera, with Captain America leading the charge just makes my cynical heart so happy.

An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

The confirmed returning cast consists of almost everyone we are familiar with from the movies. The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and is produced by Kevin Feige

Avengers: Infinity War is slated to premiere in theaters on May 4, 2018. The Avengers will assemble again in a fourth untitled film on May 3, 2019. Make sure you watch the trailer below and let us know your thoughts.
