Last night at the American Music Awards, The Walt Disney Studio released a full length trailer of their feature adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s A Wrinkle in Time. In the trailer, we are introduced to a glorious spectacle. The imagery is vivid and viewers unfamiliar with the book get a detailed explanation as to the concept of what a wrinkle in time comes to represent.
A brief synopsis of the film is below:
The movie is based on a children’s series by the same name. Meg and Charles Wallace are aided by Calvin and 3 interesting women, Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit, and Mrs. Who in the search for their father who disappeared during an experiment he was working on for the government. Their travels take them around the universe to a place unlike any other. They must learn to trust each other and to understand that everyone is different.

The cast of A Wrinkle in Time consists of Oprah Winfrey as Mrs. Which, Reese Witherspoon as Mrs. Whatsit, Mindy Kaling as Mrs. Who, Chris Pine as Mr. Murray, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Mrs. Murray, Zach Galifianakis as The Happy Medium, Michael Peña as Red, André Holland as Principal Jenkins, Levi Miller as Calvin, Deric McCabe as Charles Wallace, and introducing Storm Reid as the memorable Meg Murray. Bellamy Young, Rowan Blanchard, and Will McCormack also join in this production.
Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time is being directed by Ava DuVernay. The film is being produced by Jim Whitaker and Catherine Hand. Jennifer Lee wrote the screenplay.
