Holy crap! Netflix delivers huge announcement with The Cloverfield Paradox trailer!
Netflix is fricking killing it with the movie game. And during the Superbowl, they delivered the ULTIMATE surprise. They’ve picked up The Cloverfield Paradox, but the sequel premieres on the streaming service after the big game tonight. I guess I know what I’m doing tonight before I go to bed.
Initially, the movie was looking to be released later this year in theaters, but it was rumored that Netflix was looking to pick up the film for distribution.
The general premise of the story is as follows:
The project — which was originally thought to be titled The God Particle — reportedly follows a group of astronauts on a space station who find themselves alone and fighting to survive after an experiment makes the Earth vanish.
Watching the trailer, it looks like the sequel will provide answers to questions that were brought up during the original Cloverfield film. The ensemble cast includes including Elizabeth Debicki, Daniel Bruhl, Gugu Mbatha Raw, Chris O’Dowd, Ziyi Zhang and David Oyelowo.
