Superhero auditions and shade in the final trailer for Deadpool 2

Today we have the final trailer for Deadpool 2, which is full of shade (with jokes about both Thanos and the DC Universe). In it, we see Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) getting X-Force together while gloriously insulting everyone around him. It appears that the team is setting out to protect a kid (Julian Dennison), and it’s likely from Deadpool’s enemy Cable (Josh Brolin) who he refers to as Thanos. (That one made me laugh the cat off my lap.)

I loved the first film and I’m totally on board with this one, though I’m most excited to see Domino (Zazie Beetz). Deadpool may say that her luck superpower isn’t cinematic, but it certainly looks to be otherwise. We’re also going to see Bedlam and Shatterstar. Then, of course, there is Peter, who has no superpowers, but joins X-Force anyway because he “saw the ad.” I already love Peter and I’m sorry about the fact that he’s probably going to perish in front of a laughing audience. Peter, you kind of rock.

Are you guys excited for Deadpool 2? What did you think of the final trailer? Was the DC shade deserved? (I mean, it’s a mild bit of shade, but it’s kind of spot on.) Do you love Peter as much as I do before you even see him at work? Any other superheroes that you’d like to see? Let us know your thoughts in the comments or tweet them to us @LegionofLeia.

Deadpool 2 hits theaters May 18.
