CW Will Introduce Batwoman in Crossover Event
During the CW Upfront Presentation today, it was revealed that the network would be introducing Batwoman in another superhero filled crossover event this fall.
Arrow actor Stephen Amell revealed the big news to everyone at the presentation:
“We’re incredibly excited to announce that we’ll be doing another crossover event this fall on the CW, and we’ll be introducing a new character. For the very first time appearing, we’ll be fighting alongside Batwoman, which is terrific. The crossover is going to make it to air in December. I need to leave right now and start filming it.”

Batwoman is one of several vigilantes who has taken on the moniker of The Bat while protecting the city. She was first introduced back in 1956 and has since undergone an evolution of sorts, especially with the relaunch of DC Comics’ New 52.
The inclusion of Batwoman within the Arrowverse coincides with the introduction of Gotham City to the verse. The inclusion of Gotham City and all it entails has been teased for a while with the Arrowverse. Fans have seen hints and glimpses scattered out in both Arrow and The Flash. The not-so-subtle name dropping of Bruce Wayne from time-to-time has probably been the most blatant hint of all for viewers. So, all I can say is, it’s about time!
Also, in terms of all the female superheroes they can include from Gotham City, I’m actually quite happy that they are going with Kathy Kane over Barbara Gordon. Batwoman doesn’t get too much love in the live-action realm, so this introduction will get to introduce everyone to someone other than Batgirl.
The next Arrowverse crossover event has been set to air sometime this December. We’ll keep you updated as we get closer to the crossover event.
