Toothless meets his match in first How To Train Your Dragon 3 poster

Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation have released the first poster for How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. This movie marks the third film in the franchise.

Looking at the poster, I can’t help but be super excited and happy. Those of us who have followed the franchise have known that Toothless has always been referred to as the last Night Fury. Night Furies are rare dragons. As a result, the fact that Toothless has run across a mate in this upcoming installment means that we might see the return of the Night Furies to their peak glory in later installments. It also means that Toothless may have to leave Hiccup. That thought makes me sad.

The official synopsis for the film is below:

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is the much-anticipated culmination of one of the most beloved animated film franchises in history. As Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) fulfills his dream of creating a peaceful dragon utopia, Toothless’ discovery of an untamed, elusive mate draws the Night Fury away. When danger mounts at home and Hiccup’s reign as chief is tested, both dragon and rider must make impossible decisions to save their kind.

Dean DeBlois returns as the series director. The cast of the film includes Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Kit Harington, Cate Blanchett, Gerard Butler, Kristen Wiig, Craig Ferguson, and F. Murray Abraham as the villain Grimmel.

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is produced by Brad Lewis and How to Train Your Dragon series producer Bonnie Arnold .
