SDCC: Aquaman trailer is finally here!
Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Films released the first Aquaman trailer today during the Warner Bros. presentation at San Diego Comic-Con. Make sure you watch the trailer below and let us know what you think.
Personally, I think the SHAZAM! trailer was much better in execution, but there are numerous differences between the two trailers. Aquaman has always been more fantasmical in subject matter. That being the case, I am not 100% certain on some of the special effects observed from this particular trailer.
However, Jason Momoa’s delivery as Aquaman will probably be what brings me to the theater. It isn’t the Arthur we know and thank God for that.
The official synopsis of the film is below:
From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas. The film, starring Jason Momoa in the title role, reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime — one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.
Aquaman also stars Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman. Also starring is Ludi Lin and Temeura Morrison.
The film is directed by James Wan. The script was penned by Will Beall and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, from the story by Geoff Johns, Wan and Beall. Aquaman is being produced by Peter Safran and Rob Cowan, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg, Walter Hamada, and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.
The movie is based on characters from DC’s Aquaman created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger. Rupert Gregson-Williams will compose the music. He previously composed the music for the Wonder Woman film.
Aquaman opens on December 21, 2018.
