Laura Vandervoort is Rose in new Rabid photo
Thanks to Bloody Disgusting we have our first look image of Laura Vandervoort as Rose from the upcoming remake of Rabid.
Vandervoort is playing Rose, a shy and modest seamstress who completely changes after she gets plastic surgery to fix her scarring after an accident. Given Vandervoort’s experience with transformations and horror (see Bitten or Jigsaw), I can’t wait to see how she tackles this role onscreen.
Rabid is written by Jen Soska, Sylvia Soska, and John Serge. The Soska Sisters are most known for their amazingly twisted horror film American Mary. TheWith a modern and relevant spin from the woman’s perspective, and the addition of Vandervoort, the new Rabid is going to be a uniquely chilling, and captivating film.
Joining Vandervoort is Ben Hollingsworth, Hanneke Talbot, Mackenzie Gray, CM Punk, and AJ Mendez.
The remake will follow Rose, a young woman who, after an accident leaves her scarred beyond recognition, undergoes a radical untested stem-cell treatment. While turning Rose into the belle of the ball, the experimental transformation comes at a price.
Michael Walker, Paul Lalonde and John Vidette of Back 40 Pictures are producing.
