Daredevil season 3 teaser embraces its darkness

It looks like Murdock may not be coming back, but Daredevil is here to stay.

The first teaser for season 3 of Marvel’s Daredevil was released today by Netflix (via Collider) at the end of the Iron Fist‘s final episode for the newly released season. Matthew Murdock is most definitely alive, but it looks like he has come to realize some very hard and uncomfortable truths.

“I once believed that justice could be found in a court of law, and in the light of day. But I was fooling myself,. Darkness only responds to darkness. And the thing is, I’d rather die as the Devil than live as Matt Murdock.”

Welp. Whatever trials Murdock has faced since the end of The Defenders, where we last saw him unconscious and being taken care of by nuns and his mother, have definitely shaped him. Or at least made him very much lose hope for the goodness of man and how best to combat the nonstop evil in the world. I imagine with Season 3 we will see the true depths of the darkness that has taken hold of his heart and see how he puts it to use.

The third season of Daredevil is expected to drop on Netflix sometime towards the end of 2018. Most likely, it’ll drop in November given how Netflix schedules things out. What do you think of the teaser? Tweet your thoughts to us at @LegionofLeia and let us know what you think.
