Watch an extended sneak peek at the Disney Channel’s new animated series Star Wars Resistance
UPDATE – SEPTEMBER 27 12:46PM PST: As pointed out by writer Courtney Enlow on SYFY Fangrrls, the voice actor who is voicing General Leia Organa posted (and has now deleted, though it’s in the article) a video on Twitter making fun of Christine Blasey-Ford during her testimony about the alleged sexual assault by SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh. You can read it here.
Today the Star Wars YouTube channel posted a brand new extended sneak peek video for the Disney Channel animated series Star Wars Resistance. In the animated series, we get to see a number of familiar faces including Poe Dameron, Captain Phasma, BB-8 and yes, even General Leia. This definitely has a younger feel to it. Star Wars Resistance will premiere on the Disney Channel on October 7 at 10PM, which is sort of an odd time slot for a younger-skewing show.
I’m down to watch anything that is related to Star Wars, of course, and after rewatching the first trailers for Star Wars Rebels, I realize that I had the same feelings back then. It seemed like a show for younger people, and we know how dark that show ended up getting. Dave Filoni (Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars: The Clone Wars) is the one behind Star Wars Resistance, so I trust him. Why am I saying this? The comments seem to have some anger in them, saying that this is too young-feeling. Trust in the Force, you guys! Of course, everyone just complains about everything these days, so it’s hard to know if this is just bitching or if there is a legitimate feeling here.
Here is the info for the show: “A daring pilot embarks upon a secret mission against the First Order… with a lot of help from his friends in Star Wars Resistance. Premiering Sunday, October 7 at 10pm ET/PT on Disney Channel.”
Are you guys excited for Star Wars Resistance? What did you think of the sneak peek? Let us know in the comments or tweet them to us @LegionofLeia.
