Is this the end for Captain America? Chris Evans posts a farewell message as Avengers 4 wraps
What does this mean? Is this the end of Captain America as we know it? Today Chris Evans, who has been playing the role of Steve Rogers, aka Captain America wrapped filming on Avengers 4. He posted a farewell message on his official Twitter account. You can read it below.
Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful.

In the tweet, Evans says, “Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful.” Evans’ contract is up for the role, and it has long been assumed that Avengers 4 will be his final Marvel film. A number of characters were poofed out of existence by Thanos (Josh Brolin) at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, though Cap wasn’t one of them. Does this tweet mean that fans fears are justified? You know, we’ve also been speculating that this is the final film for Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark, aka Iron Man.
Yes, it’s likely that Cap won’t survive the events of Avengers 4. Evans’ tweet just confirms it. Will Thor go as well? If this is the case, it does make way for Bucky (Sebastian Stan) to take over the role as he does in the comics. Maybe this means more Avenger replacements? Riri Williams as Ironheart? A female Thor? Maybe not Jane Foster as Natalie Portman isn’t exactly around anymore, but perhaps another character? Heck, maybe we’ll finally get Beta Ray Bill!
Anyway, we’d love to hear your thoughts about the possible end of Chris Evans’ Captain America. Either way, we have all of his lovely tweets to comfort us.
