Jon Favreau reveals details about The Mandalorian series

Jon Favreau revealed on his social media further details into what kind of Star Wars works he is developing for Disney’s upcoming streaming service. One big reveal was a live-action Star Wars series titled The Mandalorian which would be, as you all would probably guess, about an individual from that particular part of the universe.

According to Favreau, the series will be stepping away from the characters we’ve come to connect to Mandalore and will instead focus on someone entirely different:

“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”

For those who are unaware as to who or what the Mandalorians are in the Star Wars Universe, I will try to give a bare-bones summary. Mandalorians are a group of people who hail from the planet Mandalore.  They are known for being legendary warriors oftentimes fighting against the Jedi. Their armor was known to strike fear in the hearts of many. The most famous example of that particular armor can be found on Jango Fett and Boba Fett.

I imagine many will be disappointed that this particular work is not going to be focusing on Boba Fett but, to be perfectly honest, I am more interested in seeing them explore a different connection to the Mandalorian world. At least, it would be better than gratuitous fan service.
